Ref sheet made by PurringFool...I dunno how to do the little icon thing, so I'll just put the URL:
https://www.furaffinity.net/user/purringfool
Not included in this ref sheet is the area between Phase's white and blue scales is suppose to be able to change colours along with his eyes and pads. The colour in the middle blends with the blue on one side and then blends with the white on the other.
Different situations change the colour of his scales.

so it's a scalie fursona.
I have been thinking about your scalie fursona just from an artistic perspective, what sort of anatony he would need t have to maintain the spirit of a komodo dragon and still be anthropomorphized. in looking at photos of Komodos, the primary visual characteristics I notice are they are very muscular, they are very flat and long, and they have relatively small, thin heads.
there are photos of them standing upright, so I suppose that might be helpful. on this reference, the thing which makes him not easily believable as Komodo is that he is not very low to the ground, although the head sketchs look good.
KOmoddos are mean and they eat people. I don't easily see you that way, but that's cool, it's good to have a fursona that forces people to stretch their minds and see aspects of you which are not so obvious. ..and aspects of that creature...
I guess since he is similar in anatomical form to a crocodile, looking at that sort of fursuits and fursonas might be useful in figuring out how to do it.

Well, the thing about Phase...he's over emotional and flies off the handle, but tries to not express it. The colour changing bit up there is what lets people know generally what mood he's in.
And I'm a bit of an ironic komodo. I try not to be mean. Even when I do, I apologize.
To be honest, I didn't think about all of this when I chose the animal. My boyfriend was wanting me to make one, and I like komodos, so I picked it. But just as any good story maker, I got the details, then made them fit.
In an artistic manner, I'm no help. I have absolutely no idea what can and cannot be done artistically. Since there are only three of us (I just remembered another guy), it's kind of hard to have a whole bunch of pictures of fursonas and fursuits to reference from. Lol, but I'm generally ok with whatever people do. I understand artistic limits and such. I don't expect nor ask for perfection.

what sort of attire does Phase wear in anthro form?
I have never drawn antho animals at all but I am interested in learning how, and this creature seems interesting. .... If I draw something expect it to be bad and sketchy, but If I do draw something I will post it so you can laugh about how bad and sketchy it is.
