Realized - and I could be mis-remembering here - that I never took photos of the mask I made for Vancoufur this year, back in March! And I just re-dyed my hair a bright blue/ purple, so this seemed like a good time XD
Sorry for the crappy photos, I was just taking selfies (something I'm terrible at lol) on my cell phone camera.
The mask is made mostly from stuff I got at the dollar store, apart from the fake fur which came from my big bin of scraps. A simple plastic half-mask for the base, cardboard and tape for the shaping, chopsticks to hold the ears rigid, plastic sequin hearts for the "scales", electrical tape for the nose and the whiskers are these strange little battery-powered fibre-optic decorations, I think they were designed for table centrepieces or something :P
One day I'll re-make this, or something similar, much better - ideally with a proper partial suit to go with it! This one is super fun to wear for now though ^_^

Very fun! how does it stay on, elastic strap around the back? That's a really great quick scrapping-together-of-parts, it definitely has some charm. The hair works great with it too. :)
I kinda like this half-mask idea, because I also like to breathe and interact and drink easily... the big problem for me are my glasses, which would seem to interfere with any such design. And face-painting is so time-consuming...

Hee, thank you! :3 Yep, just a regular strip of elastic around the back. I like to keep it super tight so the mask is really stable and can move with my drunk/ excitable/ klutzy head jerks :P
As for the glasses... the only real solution is to wear contact lenses. I really, really hope that one day I can wear yellow contacts to give myself proper sabretoothed-ermine eyes... but thus far I've had no luck sticking bits of plastic in my eye, so I just go glasses-free with the mask on. I figure I can still probably see better than most fursuiters XD

For me, it would have to be tight enough to stay on while I dance... you've seen me dance. :)
I psychologically cannot put anything on my eyes, it just squicks me out - also, my prescription is way too strong for what contact lens can allow. I could go without, but every figure would be rather blurry. Pointless at a con if I can't see anyone clearly...
