I know Sonic and MLP aren't the best comparisons since both franchises are clearly different from each other, but I still like to have a bit of fun with character comparisons since I don't really take them seriously. Unlike most fans who like compare the Mane Six with even the male characters, I felt it made more sense to compare them with characters of the same gender. The Mane Six's element names were included. Of course, all these comparisons are opinion-based. It's fine if you don't agree completely with what I have here. Myself, when it comes to the Mane Six, I'm only a fan of Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Applejack, and when it comes to Sonic, I'm only a fan of Blaze and Sally, and just a little bit of Rouge.

Twilight Sparkle and Sally Acorn - Although they are pretty different from each other, with Sally being much tougher and more experienced, they still qualify as princesses who take the lead of their respected groups. They are also logical-minded and always try to do what they feel is right.
Rainbow Dash and Blaze the Cat - Blaze may be moody, unsociable, and independent, but she with Rainbow Dash share the tough, tomboy type, not to mention that they have fiery temperaments and tend to be sassy towards others, though still remain loyal to their respected friends. Rainbow does even have moments where she's grumpy. Confidentially, I also compare Blaze and Rainbow since both of them are my most favourite female characters of their respected franchises, so yeah, heheh. ^^;
Fluttershy and Tikal the Echidna - I now feel that Tikal is much better comparison, because let's face it, Cream the Rabbit is yet to show any development in her character, while Fluttershy already has, not to mention that Fluttershy has a lot of moments where she is badass, strong, independent and brave in spite of her shyness and sensitive nature, something which Tikal has accomplished and also shares as seen in Sonic Adventure.
Applejack and Bunnie Rabbot - Tomboyish Southerners who are good-natured, yet have fiery dispositions that are somewhat milder compared to Rainbow Dash and Blaze the Cat. They're also both hardy and determined.
Pinkie Pie and Amy Rose - Not much to say about them since I'm not a huge fan of those two, but yeah, they're both hyperactive, erratic, overly cheerful, and random pink girls.
Rarity and Rouge the Bat - Some may agree or disagree, considering how I had a discussion over who matches better with Rarity, Rouge or Sonia. I'm not that much into Sonic Underground, so it's hard for me to really consider Sonia, while I don't find Rouge to be entirely bad, since she's shown to care for her teammates and rivals, and works as a spy for GUN, which can be considered an occupation. So there's those aside from sharing Rarity's girliness and fascination for jewels.
