Of course a great artist will use a filter if the filter's the right tool for the job at hand.
But the key to being a great artist is knowing when "using a filter" is a TOOL rather than a CRUTCH.
Brilliant piece, Vantid - and I've always liked some of Painter's native tools, including the paper textures :)
