Leaffle is the first to say magic is real in the world. Although Ki is accepted the word 'magic' still seems silly to most. Really, external energy just waiting to be harnessed? Still, it is said that the markings on his body were a blessing from the old maple tree he was born under and the leaf he keeps on his head a never wilting reminder to himself from his mother that magic is real.
