You did seem to nail Fen's facial expression with being extremely upset, though. At least she's getting the hugs she needs.

Actually, it just occurred to me. I understand that she had the best intentions (I hope) and was doing it for Fen's benefit and long-term mental health (I hope) but... Mis'alia was an absolute dick. Without prior warning or consent, Fen was forced to literally relive traumatic past events that resulted in her previous breakdowns, and caused enough distress that she actually momentarily broke out of the simulation recall process thing. And she knew it was going to happen.

I don't care if she thinks she was doing the right thing; this situation is arguably the single most reprehensible act perpetrated by any character we have seen so far. Piris was small-fry.

That doesn't change anything. There were absolutely better ways to go about this whole business of working through Fen's past. This way was needlessly cruel and wasn't even efficient either, judging by how much time passed and the damage to the surroundings.

I never said anything about Fer. I definitely understand that leaving it unexplained makes it a surprise for us the readers and there are incentives to not give away that kind of thing, ideas and storytelling tropes like the 'unspoken plan guarantee' for example.

I am referring to things in-universe. Mis' actions make her morally questionable at best.

Think of it this way.. 6+ months of therapy to fully recall the memories and process everything, and a lot of work to actually get past it, or a couple weeks on a mountain top, of which you've got most of the rough shit out of the way day 1.

It's not nice and comfy therapy, but it's extremely efficient.

Not arguing with that - the whole memory recall thing was a lot faster than it would have been with conventional therapy. My issue with her actions is that I don't think it would have been difficult for Mis to say that it was going to happen. Like I said, as it stands she put through Fen through torture without prior warning, consent, agreement or anything. I don't think it would have been especially difficult on her end to come explain to Fen what was going to happen and that in the end it would be to her and Vix's betterment. It's just something I have very, very strong opinions on.

In my opinion, had she told Fen before hand, Fen probably would of never agreed on doing it so she had to basically keep Fen in the dark about it so that Fen would do the whole memory thing. but then again that's just my opinion on the matter. And everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I wonder what that says about her and the world they live in might have individuals like Fen walking around and never get help when their powers appear? Trying to catch up here and I have to say wow, that was a lot of story to go through and it was great. So much about Fen and the area she was in, and the feels still have questions and theories and I can't wait to see where this story leads us. Very awesome. And it seem the Mistress is connected to the artefact so I guess now I am curious is she sending or receiving information? surely this leads up to something big is coming since they are all most active and willing to teach us "everything".
