You can't transmit, give away or take magic away from somebody in my setting because every creature has magic abilities. However, you can extract memories about magic and use of it and place memories into a memory crystals that are some kind of a substance that just looks like a crystal. That's how the criminals were punished since olden times but recently old and terminally ill people started to give their memories about magic away with the aim not to let their wisdom and magic disappear when they are dead. The process of extracting is really time-consuming and energy expenditure is grand and the memory crystals are so valuable that not everybody can become it's bearer. However there are some bearers and they are called crystallydes. Crystallydes are distinguished from the others with the mark of a rhombus on their foreheads. At the moment there are known only three crystallydes.
