Hay guys! Sorry for the inactivity lately, but I've just been dealing with a lot lately, job search, contemplation about college, loads of stress...
One of the things I have been working towards is getting this sweet ass ride! It's a Yamaha V-Star 1100, and it is a sweet ride!
A while back, I finally decided that I was going to get a motorcycle for myself, mostly to save on the cost of gasoline, and so I have been working towards that goal for the past few months. I already got all my riding gear, (short of rain gear, but I don't plan to ride in the rain until I am pretty good at driving this thing) basically, I got a helmet, riding gloves, an armored jacket, and a reflective vest for night riding.
I also decided to take the motorcycle safety class to teach me the basic maneuvers and safe practices for riding motorcycles, seeing that I have literally no previous experience operating any motorized bicycle. (and I also found out that passing the class gave me a discount on my motorcycle insurance, bonus!)
And after that, I finally got my bike! I seriously spent everything I had on this thing! I even had to scrape together all my spare change and take all my aluminum and plastic to the recycles in order to afford it, but it was totally worth it! It is a super smooth ride, crazy low miles on it, and just look at that custom paint! So awesome!
Now, all I need to do is transfer it in my name, and get the motorcycle endorsement on my driver's license, and I'll be good to go!
Of course, I'll probably practice on the streets around my house to get a good feel for the bike before trying to use it as a normal commute vehicle, but I finally got it! I've been thinking about getting a bike ever since I was in high school!

Yeah, that's a pretty small engine, although I gotta say it's pretty dang impressive that it can reach speeds of 86 mph (138 km/h) with such a little motor. Most bikes I was looking at that had engines three times that size could barely do that! And I bet the gas mileage is amazing on that thing too!
Over here apparently a bike has to be a minimum of 250cc in order to be allowed on the road, which is kinda stupid since the bike you have seems like it wouldn't have any issues with maintaining highway speeds.
Then again, I suppose if you put your average fatass American on it, it might have some trouble...
I was actually gonna get a bike with a smaller engine at first, but then I remembered how psycho other drivers are, especially on the highway I need to use, and decided that I needed a bike that could easily loose a car if I needed to.

It helps that the TS185 is a 2 stroke but there are plenty of small engined bikes that make a lot of power. My TS185 was last on the road in 1986 and has been used as an off highway farm bike since then. It needs a lot of work to be roadworthy again as most of the electrical system is dead and it frequently takes 20 minutes of jumping on the kick starter to get it going. It's more of a street legal dirt bike.
Here is one on much better condition than mine same colour and everything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-wGYw3fxa8
I would like to get a Royal Enfield Bullet 500. https://royalenfield.com/motorcycles/bullet-500
Until a few years ago here a learner rider was limited to a maximum displacement of 125cc, restricted 250cc. anything over that required a full license. Now they limit by power to weight ratio with a max displacement of 660cc for both learners and restricted riders.
