My sibling always told me I had it so easy; since I was PaPa's last offspring, he had a soft spot for me. My siblings always told me I was spoiled and never had it as hard as they did. My siblings called me a runt; they were all much older and larger than I was and they constantly picked on me. I was so young and I figured that was just the way it was. Mother secretly told me once that I was special because I was father's tenth offspring, which meant that with my existence, father's dream of having ten children was complete.
My father was a brute, the alpha male of our pod. The scars on his body from his fights proved that he was worthy of his position as top male. Unfortunately, a harsh rumor that he had trouble impregnating my mother made it tough to enforce his power. Most males, especially the alphas, had at least fifteen offspring. My father had only ten; this was certainly a downer on his pride. He simply wouldn't put up with it. He knew from the beginning he had trouble, and the fact that the whole pod knew it and used it against him was certainly devastating.
My father's name is Razure. He is, at my best guess, at least 1,200 years old. He was also the runt of his family and I wonder if that is why he has a soft spot for me...
