What an unusual concept.
Proto stared at the datapad clutched in his claws with a disconcerting intensity, utilizing an expression typically reserved for tinkering with shuttle engines or an unexpected cosmic encounter that was taking an unfortunate turn. Tapping gently on the opaque screen, he did not take notice of the two men that were slowly making their way towards him. Arias and Jay, his loving husbands, knew exactly how to sneak up on the unaware Synth so they could take a peek at what he was working on.
With a frown tugging at the corners of Proto's muzzle while he continued to work diligently, Jay was the first to get a direct look at what held one of his husbands interest so strongly.
It took every last ounce of his willpower not to burst out into raucous laughter.
Arias gave the man a curious look when he saw the expression plastered to Jay's face, then carefully looked over Proto's shoulder to uncover the same information he had.
However, much unlike Jay, he was not able to keep his mirth buried.
Suddenly assaulted by the two men's laughter, Proto quickly drew the datapad against his chest and pivoted toward them. Eyes wide, mouth drawn into a tight line as his cheeks simultaneously puffed out, Proto looked at them with a mixture of horror and astonishment.
"It's not what it looks like!"
Neither Jay or Arias could handle that response.

This cute little reference sheet of Proto was done by the lovely stilfernweh over on Flight Rising! As per their order form, I requested his pose to be as though he was using or looking at a datapad with a 'caught off guard' expression. Little did I know that they would not only take that original idea, but turn it into something quite fun and rather amusing; especially considering the kind of person Proto happens to be! I still love the fact his tail is almost sticking straight up and that his cheek is puffed out in his state of shock, making what he is doing appear even more questionable then it probably is in reality...
