A project that has been seriously eating into my time has hit a major milestone.
Ever since I first read Watts Martin's short story "Traveling Music" http://www.furaffinity.net/view/720036/ back in 1990 I pictured it in my head as a movie but knew it was too short to be a feature as it was. So after letting it percolate in my brain for a couple decades I finally felt I had enough ideas to go forward. Watts was kind enough to give his permission to try my hand at working it into a screenplay.
So in October 2013 I slowly set to work on it. Almost 3 years later I'd hammered together something that looked liked it might work so last September I sent Watts a copy of that first draft and also started showing it to others for comment. The next few months were nerve racking but by the new year I'd heard back from most people. As expected going in it still needed a lot of work. Largely because I was trying to cram more into a two hour film than would comfortably fit.
Time for a major rewrite. One that has been going on until this last weekend when I got things more or less working together. I hope.
I've gotten a copy to Watts and now need to round up a new set of readers to point out were I've gone wrong this time.
If you are willing to look over the 105 pages and give me your honest thoughts please let me know. It will be much appreciated.
In the mean time maybe I'll get some more drawing done now.

I've just got back into editing myself after doing fanzines back in the day. Still have some of your art, too..:)
Could give it a go. Hardcopy or electronic? Time frame? Always love anything that Watts has done, saw him at FC this year. Good stuff! Will reread the story, now..
Drop me a note if you like! Stubat up north of ya...

The screenplay has updated the setting to modern times. Making it a period piece would add complications it doesn't need.
There is a scene at a Halloween party but the attendees are probably too snooty for fursuits. Other costumes will be needed though.
The use of green screen has yet to be determined.
The story is set in central Florida. Sarasota, Arcadia, West Palm Beach, and points between. Any stock footage from there? I'll be location scouting after Megaplex.
Thanks for the interest.
