Spencer has problems that are rooted in his childhood. For a long time they were piling up and were not too intense to be taken care of but in the end everything piled onto him and since then an assistance of a specialist was required.
Paul has been working with Spencer for several years and has even become a person that Spencer trusts, albeit with an effort. In spite all of this the therapy runs very slow and the main reason for this is Spencer's passive and reclusive behaviour: he tries to get out of this with reluctance and even curtails his treatment
