Flight Rising Portraits (2h): Whispers
Okay, so, there's a little story to the influx of dragon portraits you'll be seeing out of me soon. Around two-ish months after her fall, my mom was recovered just enough to no longer need 100% constant monitoring, and though I was still pretty heavily distracted/run down by daily family life because of it, I did, very occasionally, have time to sneak away to my room again and enjoy some quiet time.
There was never really a period long enough for streaming, and I never really had the energy for it, but at some point, I decided that I really, desperately needed to start drawing again, and did so in short bursts. My lair of Flight Rising dragons wound up becoming the focus of soothing, slow-paced portrait experimentation-- and here we are!
This is Whispers, one of my nocturnes, and the first portrait of them all. I recall very specifically having just bought the newly released Kyle T Webster impressionist pack as a splurge/pick-me-up and desperately wanting to use it on something. The technique was clunky and unfamiliar, but charming in the end. I'll always remember looking at this fondly and feeling like I hadn't completely lost the ability to do art forever after so many weeks of exhausting family care.
I'm pretty sure I have between 20 and 30 of these currently finished, on top of a few I've done as side commissions on site, so, uh... hope y'all like dragon portraits, because they kept me sane for about half a year!
Cheers, all! Happy Monday from this small and tired Hanmonster.
