A commission of
katch's Shadowrun character, Drake. Shadowrun is a cyberpunk tabletop game, and Drake here has extensive cybernetic implants, hence the strange scars everywhere and the totally black eyes.
I had a lot of fun with this one, and MAN did I learn a lot.
This is done with a brush pen, Microns, black and white Speedball ink and a dip pen. It took a goddamn eternity to finish because I've never done so much white detailing on black before, and initially outlined it all with black, so the black areas had to be inverted. Painstaking, but worthwhile!
You'll probably be seeing more of him and other characters from the same campaign. :3

Thanks so much! I actually crosshatched the ENTIRE background with a ruler- you can kind of see it by his knee- when I decided that I just wanted it to be all black. This was one of those that I just kept picking at and picking at until I made myself stop working on it. I kind of had to toss it away from me and go OK IT'S DONE. XD

LOVE LOVE LOVE. B&W inkworks and so forth are some of my favourites, and this is AMAZING. The pose, the nifty design, how it all ties in to the BG...LOVE THIS, yes I do. Perfect balance between detail and simplicity, this is STUNNING.
Had I any spare cash whatsoever I'd want a commish like this. Sadly I am broke so I'll just enjoy drooling at this'un. Tis awesome!

I was very inspired with this piece so it turned out well... a lot of work, a lot of learning. The scan doesn't do it justice, of course.

It's true! You never really know the beauty of a piece until you see it in person.
This is sort of a first for me; I haven't done much like this previously, but I'll do more like it in the future. It was an inked piece that needed more, so I experimented, and learned lots. There should be a series of these, actually, since there are three more characters from the same campaign as Drake. :)
