Personality:
Outwardly Pupa is a great big bully, Pupa is snarky and antagonistic to most other ponies. He will tease and belittle at most opportunities and show seemingly no guilt for doing so. However, like many bullies, Pupa's toxic behaviour stems from internal turmoil. Pupa originally was borne to Chrysalis in the changeling hive after their first defeat in Canterlot and grew up quickly there (I headcanon that changelings mature very quickly, even halfbloods). Before the second attack and Starlight Glimmer's subsequent intervention and transformation of the hive, Pupa was the perfect little soldier for his mother, a high ranking soldier among the changeling army. He too, however, was swayed by Starlight's speech.

However, due to his mixed blood nature, he was unable to transform like the other changelings and due to this suffers much self-hate, believing there to be something wrong with him and resenting his pony blood, seeing it as holding him back. This loathing however was not the only thing borne from the hive transformation and Pupa bears a large amount of guilt at 'betraying' his mother, despite her rejection to be saved and denial of the rest of the hive. This guilt and hatred often bring Pupa to angry tears when he finds himself alone, far away from other ponies.

Pupa due to his venomous attitude has very little positive relationships with anyone else, including Spine, the hybrid child of Spike and Thorax, due to his never having had to face the decisions Pupa or the rest of the hive did, as he was born after the incident. His cousin Dawn Reflection often tries to get through his thorny attitude to attempt to help Pupa come to terms with his pain and not let it affect him so much, but even she has difficulties.
