I needed to loosen up a little today because I was having a lot of anxiety regarding my artwork.
I don't know why, but sometimes I get into these ruts where I just want everything to look perfect, but what it ends up coming out to is stagnant, boring, and just awkward... I want my art to look ALIVE, and it seems like when I get in these ruts, the only way to get it to stop is to just draw something quick for myself where I just absolutely do not care if the outcome is good or not.
Usually, it comes out much better and lively than if I did care.

And no need to feel ashamed of your art; had you been paying attention to my emails, I think you are one of my favorites.... in the case of this picture, you made her look pretty "alive" and the detail is wonderful, even if this was a quick drawing. :)
