Meet Eric. His is a sad tale. Born of two ordinary mermaids, Eric has a rare disfigurement that makes him the opposite of the mermaid norm: fish top half, human bottom. Teased as a small child and neglected by his ashamed parents, Eric grew up very depressed, all the more so because he is unable to frown. He cannot swim very well, and although he is intelligent he cannot speak human and has no hands. He is, in his own words, KEKEKEKEKEKE (translation: royally shafted by Mother Nature). He does have eyebrows though, of which he is secretly fond.

To combat his depression, his psychiatrist suggested he take up a recreational activity, and it is in this way that Eric realized his amazing potential for jogging. Currently he is the world's top mermaid jogger, and runs a surprisingly successful gym.
