The colors duke! THE COLORRRS! I know, I know, bad joke. But I am at the stage where I was setting some colors up to see how it'd all tie in. Not sure how definite this will all be but it at least, as always, gives me a good idea in the direction I'm going and how I can avert or change that later down the road.
I really like how Motoya's color scheme played out. Just to clarify, NO he is not a vampire. He's not even some kind of weird serpent/naga/snake/reptilean anthro mix breed of human-- he's simply HUMAN with an extremely bad case of misfortune which cursed him to how he looks today.
He means well, has a heart of gold and is all around a nice guy with a thick Brazilian accent-- he just has the potential to make Medusa even go a little stiff from the sight of him. This is actually an overexaggerated face he can pull off-- he looks... sort of normal when he's not wielding his monstrously huge smile and dangling his maniacal tongue out like that (trust me ladies, he's the bomb with that thing).
So far I've been getting alot of acclaim about the paleskinned, viper-tongued Brazilian-- and that's cool! Because I really like how he's turning out with the rest of the piece.
While this probably won't be finished for some time give or take a few days out, I most definitely look forward to finishing this. Also, I gotta figure out how to make that background look not so damn bright. I'm sort of happy about it but I'd really like to see some blue in that background somehow... just when I mess around with it it goes bright white on me and I've no idea how I'm gonna manage it just yet. Still, that's such a way's down the road.
This'll make its way into the scraps once the finalized, colored job is done.
