painted under the influence of lsd.
the cd is a copy of pink floyd's animals which wouldn't play bc i loved it too hard ("the irony is perfect!" i internally screamed, at the time.)
"this is so fun! i'm crafting! look at me crafting like a bitch!" i demanded of Gravy, chopping up the cd like a five year old.
about three hours in, i deeply regretted my once-genius cd idea. i pulled through, because i am a strong person (lol!!!), and it ended up better than my flagging acid-brain was thinking.
this one is excellent in the sunlight!

thanks so much!! i'm really proud of myself for this one, to toot my own horn ;)
my mental title for this one is, "my amethyst queen ascending to the heavens in a plume of faceted smoke" HAHA. i painted this shortly after taking her to the vet and receiving a diagnosis of feline leukemia, the vet said i may only have a few days or weeks left with her. i was trying to cope with her loss, and while i didn't paint this specifically with this symbolism in mind, it occurred to me afterwards.
(it's almost a year and a half later, and she's currently racing around the back of the couch, lashing her tail mischievously and yelling at me to try to entice me to play--our nightly ritual. her last test showed the leukemia has gone dormant, so while it could come back under stress or illness, she's as healthy as she's ever been since i've had her! she's a miracle.)
