Something new once again, with something old. Trying out my hand at the use of black shadows, not sure how well it came out since this is (I think) the 2nd time I have tried to do this type of style. This is what I was working on while in Utah visiting Zion National Park over the last week. For a while I have been trying to work on a piece that I could use to show what I can do because I have been thinking about opening up commission but I realized I really had no good examples of more complex things in color. I always try to include dynamic posing and story telling in an image. If an image looks boring or doesn't tell a story then it usually ends up in the garbage bin before it even gets started and I sat staring at a freshly erased screen for quite some time before I got the concept I was going for down. The monster is a reworked design that I did as a concept for http://www.furaffinity.net/user/kiaun/ for the XEN comic a while back. I think the black shadows really helped it pop more especially combined with the glowing green venom. The muzzle flash was an experiment and I like how it came out.

I have a lot I could ramble on about but I'll cut off there since I should really be doing linework right now instead of wasting time thinking of what to say, so I will leave off with a couple questions.

-what do you think? Comments, questions, concerns. Maybe you think I missed something or have a critique. (btw I am not the type of person to not accept a critique or fair criticism, just give me something I can work with like: "hey this could be like this to look better", not "this sucks")

-would you pay for a commission like this?
