The Blue Man Group is a "Performance" art group that specializes in making "Music" with unusual instruments while getting the audience involved in the act in some way. Their most popular instrument is the "Tubulum" which is a series of PVC tubes cut to various lengths and struck on the end with a paddle. They also try to get the audience involved by sringing rolls of paper through the audinece or dumping confetti into the seats at random.

I must say that I find this picture endlessly amusing.
