In Terrenthia, Magic is as common as air, but it takes special skill and focus in order to coax it out of the atmosphere. Most everywhere magic is spread so thin it's completely invisible, but when concentrated in one spot by a skilled sorcerer, it appears as a whispy, multicolored ball of plasma. Hey, an Eridon! I haven't drawn one of them in a long time.

This was a little coloring experiment that deviates from my usual process (after all, isn't that's what this site promotes, deviation from the norm?). I skipped the inking process and went straight to the coloring process, painting right over the scanned-in sketch and adding depth and outlines with the Dodge and Burn tools. It also gave me a chance to play around with Tool Presets, which save a lot of time.

So tell me: what do you think about this new, inkless look?

EDIT: Darkened the hair so it doesn't pop out as much.
