This reminds me of Bendy and the Ink Machine. And I don't think it's just because of the black and white cartoony style.

Well, I definitely saw an increase in this style since Bendy and the Ink Machine came out. It's a combination of that, Cuphead getting a release date, and following MSJOLLY on twitter that made me want to dabble in this style and see how I could do with it.
