I've been there...
That's why I carved my life as a lone wolf. Hang with the right crowd, but not too closely. Survive on your own wits and abilities, do things the way that works for you (given it doesn't harm others of course). Cared little about BFF's, social circles or being noticed. If I was invisible to people who didn't really matter, who didn't contribute to my benefit, then so be it. They weren't gonna get me through college or through life. I made myself known to people who gave me a grade, gave me a position.
And for most, I stuck to my responsibilities and my my craft. So they could see through me, but at least I was making something of myself.
Become a survivalist. That's how I got through it.
