Well said Megumi! If you guys recall from Megumi’s background, she was forced to undertake a priestess role due to her parents wanting her to take up the mantle that her grandmother left behind and the shrine maidens held Megumi to the high expectations that her grandmother set. Because of how she was forced to undertake this duty with no say in the matter, Megumi was very unenthused about taking the position. She instead dreamed of taking on position of becoming a famed swordswoman similar to her ancestor. Now its not like Megumi didn’t respect her grandmother for what she did or was not close to her, quite the contrary. Megumi loved her grandmother and spent what time she could just visiting her at the shrine, but the only reason she was so unenthused about becoming a priestess was due to others forcing the decision on her, coupled with the non-violent code of ethics she would be forced into complying with. However, after rejoining the Tsukihi village and learning from its new lord, she decided to try again, but this time she would be doing things her own way! Megumi has decided to take on the position of priestess, using what she learned in the shrine before running away and combining it with her skills of sword play in order to make a new path for herself. Her soul shroud (the ensemble she’s currently wearing) represents this perfectly as she is a shrine maiden all her own, following the rules she set for herself: to protect others from evil and use both the powers of a brave warrior and a determined priestess to vanquish evel! I know for a fact she will be very good at her job, no doubt about it!

*TRIVIA: Megumi is the fourth Apostle to have some form of scar/damage on her body. Zager has a large scratch on his chest, Tatsumaki has multiple scars on her back, and Oblivia has various wounds on her body.
