The streets of Los Angeles were bustling on this lively warm, summer night. Bright lights bloomed the strip, and music blared from every open window. Vehicles revved to life all round, coating the air with a thick scent of gasoline.

But what caught the deer's attention was a particular beat, thundering from far down the road. It was accompanied by an ear-rattling bike rev which sent vibrations through the very ground. The revving grew closer, louder. And the song, he would know that song anywhere.

Looks that Kill, Motley Crüe. Her favorite. It had to be her.

The deer perked his ears, swinging his head around to gaze down the road. Icy blue eyes pierced the crowd, scanning their faces as he awaited her arrival. He tapped the heel of his hoof against the pavement, matching the beat as it grew louder. His lips pulled into a grin when he finally spotted the tip of white feathers above the sea of vehicles.

"Yeah, baby! There she is!" The stag let out a loud whistle, and the motorcycle gave a sharp turn in his direction.

Ghatz exploded through the crowd, leaving citizens to jump out of the way as she careened onto the sidewalk. But that deer sitting in the headlights would not budge, no, he stayed sitting pretty. The goat skidded to a halt right in front of him, deliberately kicking a dust cloud up in his face.

"Fuck off, Angel, I heard that." Ghatz smiled. She put her vehicle into park, kicking down its stand.

"Good," the deer finally broke his cool, keeling over to cough the dust away, "you were supposed to." Angel gave his wings a single flap in Ghatz’s direction, sending the dust right back at her. He turned away, laughing, as the goat growled and sliced through the dust clouds with massive paws. While she was distracted, he fished something small out of his pocket.

When Angel turned back around, Ghatz caught sight of something in his teeth. She hopped off her bike and strode up to him to get a closer look.

It was a daisy. A goddamn daisy: A small flower but the gesture was impactful. They were Ghatz's favorite.

She scoffed, but it was hopeless to fight the grin that tugged at her lips. “Who were you keeping that for? James Hetfield?" She rested a palm on his shoulder.

“Very funny.” Angel's wing tickled up Ghatz's leg. He reached out to tug her close, brushing the tip of his feathers against her tail.

Ghatz hummed, eyes still fixed on the daisy. She tugged back on Angel's antlers, heart jarring when their eyes met. Ghatz pushed her nerves aside and leaned down to pluck the flower from his teeth. Angel looked satisfied with himself.

Until Ghatz licked her lips and chomped it down with a single bite. She let out a raspy laugh at his flabbergasted expression, and spun around to hop out of his reach. "Charmed!" She tossed over her shoulder, winking as she climbed back on her bike and revved it back to life.
