I also made Cedric's family, as well X3
From left to right:
Heian Amakiir - A sword for hire. When his family was killed under mysterious circumstances, Lia took him in as one of her own, despite her difficulties of also being a single mother of two. He became close to Cedric and Altaros, the two treating him as if he was their brother. When he was older, however, when Lia refused to answer when questioned what happened to his family, Heian went out on his own to look for answers, what happened to his family, who was involved, and where they are to avenge them.
Cedric Holmheiver - A cleric of Arawai, the Sovereign of Life and Love. When he found out about what happened to his adopted brother Heian's family, he and Altaros travelled post haste to Dusthelm, the domain of their father, to demand answers. What they saw there, the two would never forget. Elitism, inequality, slavery. While the elite few prospered, the rest suffered and died. Cedric could not accept that the once grand name of Holmheiver, a line of heroes and champions for the people, was being used by a man who was anything but in order to further his own goals. On that day, he swore to end his father's reign, undo all the evil he has wrought, and restore his family name.
Lia Amastacia - The elven high priestess of Pelor, the god of the sun. All she does, she does to serve her god and protect the people. As such, when she was used by a nobleman from the north and forced to bear his children, she fled to Osiliar for their protection. In addition, she also took in the son of a close friend of hers, after his entire family was assassinated. She tries to uphold her god's will and do what she could for those in need, including her children, despite her own hardships.
Altaros Amastacia - When he and his brother found Dusthelm, they saw different things. What Cedric saw was the suffering of the people of Dusthelm. What Altaros saw was the pillaging and defiling of the earth, the carving of mountains, the reckless cutting down of trees, the wanton slaughtering of animals. Civilization needed to live in tandem with the natural world, not to dominate and suffocate it. Altaros knew he had to correct the balance. As a druid, he knew the natural surroundings in a way that Atticus' subordinates did not, which made it easier for him to subdue them and sabotage their efforts to expand. Atticus would have the people believe that he was a terrorist and a lunatic, but to Altaros, he provides a voice for those who cannot speak, and a guardian for the earth that has yet to be strangled by the defiler using the metal of the earth to destroy their bearer.
Atticus Holmheiver - The ruler of Dusthelm, Semir's largest source of arms and armor, particularly mythril and other rare metals. He found his predecessor's soft methods to be ineffective at attaining power and influence, so when it was his turn to rule, he did things differently. On one hand, Dusthelm has been richer than it ever had been, profits skyrocketing and the city's elites prospering, its wealth and influence quickly rivaling that of Duskwell, the capital of the kingdom of the August Vales. On the other hand, only the top echelons of the city, Atticus in particular, are having any share of this prosperity. Those who Atticus did not find worthy of this prosperity (in his view, all who are not human) were worked to death and abandoned by their so-called "betters." Those who protest or attempt to bring this corruption to light were efficiently silenced. Atticus Holmheiver does not care about people. All he cares about is being the best, and he will resort to any means to attain this goal.
Alastair Holmheiver - Atticus' legitimate son. He serves his father without any hint of remorse or hesitation, and learns from his father's professional assassin in the hopes of silencing all who dare undermine the Holmheiver name.
