The CAF brought in their awesome tour of WW2 war-birds to Hagerstown Regional HGR this weekend. This year B-29 'FIFI' returned with her diminutive pal, a Twin Beech C-45 (or was it a Beechcraft 18?) My father gifted me with a short ride on her, an experience I won't forget. As much as I'd love a cruise on a B29, or a B17, or whatever other warbird, I cannot say that my ride on this small transport was less than Wonderful! Bumpy, yes. And to ride, even for a short time alongside with those little Wasp engines was what I have wanted to do for a long time. Even though our cruise altitude was only 2700, my spirits were much better.

What a wonderful treat! Definitely one for the memory files, to be sure! Those radial engines have such a wonderful sound.
Things DO tend to get a bit bumpy at those low altitudes, especially when mid-day thermals have come out to play. Still, it's worth a bit of "amusement park action" to get a ride with history, like that.
