Warning: There's some serious Eragon: The Movie - bashing ahead. Everything I say now is NOT absolute and just my opinion, k? k!
One day I was in a good mood and since I am a huuuge dragon fan and Eragon was supposed to run on TV, I decided to watch it. Can't be wrong, can it?
MEEEEEEP! Boy was I mistaken! It was horrible! HOR-RI-BLE! This piece of garabge is full of dull storytelling, crappy dialogues and some really bad insults, defamation and mockery of the proud dragon race that makes the heart of any dragon lover bleed in agony. Bleh! I turned off the TV in the middle of the movie and I really wish to have that thoughtlessly waisted minutes back... Man...
So, after gotten insulted by Eragon - The Movie an idea for a pic came to my mind. And today I finally brought it to paper. I just took one of the insulting scenes: The one where Estragon, no, Eraboon wants to go to wherever keep/cave/Toilet cause he is imagining things and wants to save a princess who he has seen occassionaly in his delusions or something like that. He wants to ride on Saphira but she refuses because its too dangerous or writing the scenes would be too hard or something. But little brat Eragon states that he's the one giving orders and that Saphira is only his bitch or whatever. I hate that scene so I did a new one. And I like mine far better than the original one ^^ That's it! Show the brat whos boss. An ass for an ass!
I haven't read the books yet so I cannot say what they are like. Many people that I've told my tale of woe claimed that the movie is garbage and the books are better but I don't know. I have nothing against them. I only loathe the movie ^^

The book was okay, the movie... not so much. I can honestly say that even objectively, it wasn't so much of a movie either, save for the thrills and neat special effects. It's just overpraised. The worst injustice it did to its fans, however, was not sticking to the storyline of the book. A lot of awesome was left out. The characters seemed... nothing like their depiction. I guess I'm harsh. Idk.
I used to read a lot when I was younger. As I progress into my adult years I find my motivation to do so shrinking; I read Eragon 2 years ago. Picked up another book of my choosing for the third project and enjoyed it from start to finish, getting an A on that project as well.
You can please some people all the time, all people some of the people, but not all people all the time. *shrug* I just couldn't get into so much reading after awhile. And just think, you're talking to somebody who's about to pick up Steven King. Ouch.

I really "like" the drawback of this rule as well:
"If a dragon dies, its rider doesn't give a damn about it and lives on happily ever after, with butterflies and unicorns floating around him and rainbows coming out of his ass" Some soul kinship is this. This is unfair!
If I was a dragon in that book I would lock my rider into some solid iron cage. That would be the top of it when some jerk gets killed and I have to die for it ôo

In the book it's way more fair because they merge mind and soul and the rider is left broken, drained, depressed, and suicidal for the rest of his/her life because the rider and dragon share a relationship so special they never can have it with anyone else also at one point Eragon and Saphira start talking like they are boyfriend and girlfriend. Only a dick gets over it, a true rider never does.
Was mir auch überhaupt zu dem Film einfällt (hab das Buch übrigens nich gelesen).. Mal von der Sache mit den Drachen abgesehen, ich fand den filmtechnisch stellenweise wirklich grauenhaft umgesetzt, von Schnitten, Kamerawinkeln und -fahrten und Perspektive.. boah. Teilweise war das so mies.
