Regrettably I think these random guys are cops, which means that Jim will be accused and found guilty of assaulting police officers. Not to sound cynical, but I have read way, way too many reports of police attacking people and getting away with it. Even when said assaults are caught on camera. Assuming they don't steal the cameras, as also happens.

she's putting it back after taking it out. The guys are carrying full-size automatics, that's more a 'purse pistol, likely .32 or .380 auto. She's not likely to need it after her beau's done with her attackers after all.
