Well, she controls here, but everything she does is temporary. As for what happens in your own story, I like to think the authors are more observers than they are meddlers. They don't generally interfere directly. In fact, I'm not sure if they can, truth be told. *shrugs* But, then again, that's just a theory based on my own beliefs of authors and their world crafting/watching.
