I personally always love seeing artists hobbies , or just anyones hobbies in general!
Currently i just really wanna show off my (finally) completed shrimp tank!
I've got a few other larger tanks but this one is my favorite seeing the little shrimp being constantly busy grazing on moss and plants always calms me down and makes me happy. They're such cute little beans.

Oh, I always thought those little bala sharks were tiny. They're not actual shark-sharks, they just have big dorsal fins so they're nicknamed sharks. They're a type of minnow I think. https://aquaticmag.com/wp-content/u.....atic-Mag-2.jpg
http://s65.photobucket.com/user/cen.....ion00.jpg.html they get pretty big- iredecent sharks get big too http://www.tankterrors.com/wp-conte.....on_catfish.jpg (actually called paroon cats)
neither suited for a tank under 200gals haha

dude, I love how established your moss and plants are! How long did it take your plants to really blanket the bottom like that?
*I too love settling up aquariums, I currently have a koi tank but currently I'm in the process of replanting it! I'm also thinking about doing a shrimp tank! What kinds of shrimp do you havw?

The moss of the bottom is all new! I got a 6x6 tray of coral moss (that was NOT on mesh mats) and broke it up to fit the places I needed it! Everything else took around 3months , no ferts no c02 just really good light! In here I've got 25 CRS shrimp, 46 CBS shrimp around 10 mixed neos and 20 emerald eye tetras :> the vitamins and RO water that the shrimp need are the most difficult thing about this tank haha all my other ones are totally hands off besides water changes

YOU'RE INTO AQUASCAPING TOO! And I love the way dragon stone looks, and you have java moss, moss balls, anubias and one of my favorite carpet plants, Staurogyne repens! And are those crystal reds and crystal black shrimp with pristella tetras? Do you go low tech or high tech? Sorry if I'm getting a little too excited but I don't see many others into the hobby like me lol
What sort of lighting do you use? I've had zero luck keeping any moss in my tank. http://i.imgur.com/yKXN3za.jpg
basic LED hood lights the 20 gals came with- what kind of mosses are you trying with? in this tank ive got the basic moss balls, java moss, coral moss, and flame moss- all growin like weeds , java moss is pretty indestructible, it just gets scraggly quickly, coral moss is my favorite but it's slow growing and the 6x6 pad of it i got ran me $80 (and i got it from a wholesale auction) so it's better for small tanks or gluing it to wood for a clumping effect (like this : http://imgur.com/a/1iYde )
so you have crystal reds? crystal blacks? Do you have some high quality crystal reds or something? Can't tell what the white ones are? Have any of your crystals cross bred? What size fish tank do you have? How often are your water changes? I used to have a super heavily planted (mosses like you have and then tons of taller and others etc in my old shrimp tank. I had only natural ornaments like porous rocks and mopani wood good for rooting plants on and growing things etc. But I realized a lot of my shrimp were cross breeding. So I ended up dismantling it. If I ended up remaking one, I would actually increase from a 25 gallon to a 40 gallon breeder and use certain species (around 8 different ones) all of which live in similar conditions and can't cross breed with each other, but the start up cost just for the shrimp breeders would be around 300 dollars.
cbs, crs, and golden bees (totally forgot about those since ive only got 10 and 25+ of every other type) .
yes they cross breed , but with the combo of shrimp i have they will stay either cbs , crs, or if the golden bees cross with either they will just become higher grade crs/cbs since it'll increase the amount of white in the offspring (thats what most common SS-SSS grade CRS shrimp are, only pure line CRS have never been crossbreed.)
this is a 20 gal tall, ive also got a 20 long, a 55 long, and a 120 tall.
water changes on this tank are roughly every 2 weeks, on the other tanks i do them every month with regular top offs when the water level gets low.
I'd personally suggest maybe 3 12 gal long tanks stacked if you're worried about cross breeding, it would look VERY pretty too.
and yeh- i think total cost for this tank was around $700 including plants, rocks, substrate, hardware, and shrimp, but i did it all waaaay over time, this tanks been up and running for around a year.

My original tank had a bunch of species that supposedly were impossible to house together. But since it was large for the amount of fish and everything I had and had plenty of species friendly hiding spaces all my species did fine and weren't stressed. I had breeding from all of them except my Indian Dwarf Puffers and that's just because I didn't make them the mops they need to breed well. *shakes head* They are more annoying to breed XD.
