Very good. Every word is laced with deep emotion. Once I started reading I couldn’t stop until I reached the end. The only real error that this piece has is un-capitalized words.

Like this one:

“no! no you don’t have to! L-look at you! You’re barely alive…you lost years today! Years! I’ve never seen your heart run so fast…” she was sobbing, trying to his wounds with trembling hands.

Both the ‘no’s and ‘she’ should be capitalized. Just give this piece a few more read-throughs, correcting these errors as you go along and I think that will remedy most of the errors.

I really enjoyed reading this story. I also liked the use of the heart of brass and gears. Lovely story.
