Ah yes. Back in the day when cartoons had villains...even the cartoons with the cutesy little characters that seemed nothing bad could happen to them.
Anyway, if anyone picks up on WHO this is without me saying, huge kudos to you! I am sure quite a few of your DID watch the old cartoon series back in the 80s...so hopefully he does spark some memory.
And yes, this IS a MY LITTLE PONY Villain. A real one. There were actually a few of them in the series, and some were creepier then others- but this guy takes the cake. Well, maybe him and the rock dog. God, that rock dog scared me when I was a kid...OH, and I can't forget the Centaur demon guy from the first pilot episode. And maybe Catrina. Oh yeah, I went THERE.
I dunno I kinda went into a magical hole of craziness after watching that old Chipmunk movie and wanted to do some old fan art type stuff. Gonna get back on my horrible train of madness momentarily. OH YOU KNOW.

And now I want to commission you to draw most of the villains o.O I want Ahgg and the Phlume!
At work one day, I ran across someone with the last name of Bray X D Even a version of "Niblick"!
Oh I love the old episodes...the villains were something else...

AND ALSO, since I was a tard and didn't reply fully on one comment, lol. WOOT for MLP VILLAINS! And lol, thats funny. Whats sad is I don't even remember all the villains by name...mostly just by looks. : / Its been that long. GUH.

My fav villan was Scorpan..untill he turned into a real human king yetch oooh and the rainbow of darkness! ad Catrina
acrually my fav villan PONY was when Rex (catrina's stooge) transformed into that Nurse pony *giggles* one hot femboi pony ...makes me grin. 'cause Rex is a boy..and he transformed into a girl pony..heehee
That pilot episode and escape from catrina and Bright lights are all my utter favorite episodes :)

And gosh, its been so long since i've seen Catrina episode...I should go watch that. XD
And I agree with that sentiment, the first two were the best. I wish they kept with that animation through out the whole series.

Grogar, Tirek, and katrina were the best MLP villains ever! Scorpan and Rep were awesome crossovers to the good side, and even Katrina once Rep finally knocked some sense into her! The gen 3 ponies SO needs villains! Thats why I created the Dark Ponies, which your Pyramid-Head-pony and your Cthulhu pony definitely qualify. Not all dark ponies are that dark, like my Stormkeeper (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1355099/) who is just misunderstood and has a darker, yet more open-minded outlook that regular ponies. ponies! @^^@

Gen 3, ahhh...god. I was sad how they never input any villains at all. But oh well...apparently that would cause all the little girls to turn into crazy things or something. Not like that isn't happening now, lol. And dark ponies! I need to go back and work with mine, King and his group of evils. Blargh. So much stuff...

G4 Headcanon:
Grogar was a powerful Necromancer that was feared by the ponies of Alogo for his live sacrifice-based rituals, it took nearly the combined strength of all three tribes to ultimately kill him, but even in death the Goat still lingered. Lord Cobalt of House Platinum was secretly an apprentice to Grogar, and sought methods to figure out a way to bring him back. When the Windigos began to freeze over Alogo and the ponies discovered Equestria, Lord Cobalt journeyed as well, secretly taking with him the skull of his dead master to find a way to resurrect him.
