Around the year 1997, that's when the Tamagotchi fad reached it's peak in America. People were willing to stand in line for hours to get one of the little buggers. Though, historically, when America was going crazy for the simple little egg, Japan, the tamagotchi motherland, was advancing technology by leaps and bounds.

I say "survivor" in a joking sense. If you remember the years America went gotchi-wild, you are a survivor.
