Genepi saw some of the design sketches I had and asked if I could come up with a new character that would combine a deer and a scorpion into one singular abomination. Well... yes, I can do that. Such a mashup of ideas recalled the old video game Impossible Creatures and the disparity of sizes made me puzzle out how this could work, but the idea wasn't so much to create a specific final treatment as it was to just explore the theme, so that's what I did over this page and the next two uploads to follow. This also reveals some of my shortcomings on anatomy of deer... and scorpions.
