This is the first of twelve puzzles I wrote in 2015 for   rainfurrest . That year's convention had a sword-and-sorcery theme, which ran through the puzzle series.

All twelve puzzles hung as posters in the convention space, but this one also ran as a full page in the conbook, and served both as an introductory puzzle and introduction to the story tying the twelve puzzles together.

I'll be uploading all twelve puzzles over as I get the chance, and I'm turning off comments on each of them to avoid spoilers. If you'd like to check your answer, feel free to drop me a note!
