In the salt water strait separating The Kingdom of Four Rivers from the Song Dominion, there is a smattering of small islands that have served as a neutral zone for centuries. It's the Grand Duchy of Minmoon; a culturally rich location that's been the world's resource reserve for as long as anyone can remember.
The Grand Duchy is unique in that it's a thriving state despite housing none of Teradin's Totems! It's cleverly carved a global niche for itself as the "safehouse" for the currencies and excess resources produced by the three major continents of Four Rivers, Song, and Alva. Because it houses so many precious commodities from each of these cultures, the Grand Duchy is protected from assimilation by any one of them.

The Grand Duchy exists as prosperous and peacefully as it does thanks to the foresight and cleverness of it's Grand Duchess; The Vizier Milly.
