It doesn't take much planning. It just taps into the human psyche of 'us vs them'.
However, thanks to various factors now, it's hard to tell, exactly, how much is actual outrage and how much is trolling mockrage.
And we know trolls. If they can't get their attention on the net, they go off-net. And have no problem if they ruin anyone elses' fun. After all, that gets more rage they enjoy seeing.

I am convinced it is the full, rancid fruit of the devil's plans that began sometime in the middle of the "Modern Age". C.S. Lewis noticed it, and put it into his book The Screwtape Letters. This is the bumper crop of sinners that are as passionate as the sinners of old, yet have no chance of sinning hard enough to "wake up" and repent. Having been given nothing greater than themselves, than their own egos and appetites, they have gone wild with a sick and corrupt passion, seeking to destroy all that is not themselves.
It is truly a hellish mindset, for it could be said that the devil and his own hold the same: They want space, and they will never be satisfied until they occupy all of it. Even if that means devouring their own in the end, leaving nothing but dust and ash.
This is why the wolf cannot give any power, any control, to the small, yapping dog that will never grow up. It must continue to yap, "I'm just as good as you!" to deny the ugly, cold, hard reality that it is not as good as the wolf, lest its fragile ego be crushed beneath it. And if it is given power over the wolf, it will do all it can to make the wolf into the same thing as itself... or destroy it if it cannot. And it will march itself, and all underneath it, into the bowels of hell for the sole purpose of denying reality every single moment of its existence, even unto eternity.
Remember: Fear not the one who can kill you, but the one who can plunge your soul into hell. It is better to enter paradise maimed and scarred than to lose yourself to hell in perfect health.

So far, several people have put up monetary payments for theft of, or damage to Foxler's property.
It currently stands at: $215, one full colour commission, one badge, one 2-5 page story, one 10 page story and a copy of Overwatch if someone does the following.

- Punch him in the face.

None of the people making threats, advocating violence or offering rewards for violence/theft/damage to property have had anything happen to them.

Foxler.
Ok, this is a bit of a long answer, just starting to type it out now, not sure how long it will go. Will try for a TL;DR version of events.
Foxler, named something Miller. Apparently did the normal furry thing of mixing his chosen species with his common name. Hence Foxler.
He got a free item from Second Life (the armband, red armband, white circle, black pawprint in it) and liked it. Then he founded the Furry Raiders.
Since then, has said a lot of stupid stuff. Seemingly mostly for attention.
Currently, the logo of the Furry Raiders, the white circle with a black paw print in it, is being likened to nazi paraphernalia. People say that it is a neo-nazi group, without evidence.
He... mostly seems to be an 'edgelord' and people are giving him so much attention. Folks even say that Foxler as a name was selected to be close to Hitler.
He has, ever since being compared to neo-nazis done/said more and more outlandish things to set folks off. And it has set them off. Mostly being a proponent of free speech. And pushing the boundaries of it.
The Furry Raider group pre-booked a large portion of the hotel that was to host the now dead RMFC. That set someone off, they threatened the Furry Raiders. Then all of their SJW friends also threatened. The Furry Raiders just... well... let go of a lot of the bookings, and didn't respond to any of the threats. So obviously they are to blame... not the ones making the threats.
Anyway the threats ended up causing the police to get involved, and the security budget for the con went up to $22,000. Then the con had to close because of the threats. And then was blamed for closing that con, even though they were not involved in the threats or anything that resulted in the closure.
Moving on. He is now, currently, just walking around attending a convention (BLFC), not saying nor doing anything that would or could set anyone off. Other than wearing the Furry Raiders logo. And it is enough to set folks off.
And now, threats have started, and I am wondering if this is just going to be a repeat of RMFC. So far the Furry Raiders have, yet again, not responded at all, and not involved the police in the threats. Just waiting for someone in the SJW camp to chuck a hissy fit and then inform the police, inform many other folks, or actually assault Foxler, killing another con with their threats and potentially with their violence.

Kinda trolls, kinda not.
They aren't doing anything other than just... existing at this point. They haven't done anything at all (at this con), other than wear the Furry Raider paraphernalia (and the armband he has on at the moment is a rainbow with a white circle and a black paw print, but you see, still too much like the nazis!).
It is the extreme hate of them from the other group that continues. They could very easily be ignored. But it seems like that group just hates him so much. In fact, folks are saying it doesn't matter what he wears, he should be banned and/or attacked at any con he goes to because of who he is.

More likely they were coddled as children, and thus never developed a resistance to anything offensive or off-putting. So, instead of doing the mature, adult thing and walking away or just dealing with stuff, they scream and rant and cry and use whatever they can to force others to bend to their will.
Not surprisingly, a lot of SJWs are spoiled rich kids. Maybe their parents should've taken a page out of Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" and thrown them out without a penny to make their own fortune. Might have helped.

Could not agree more Tom. SJWs are just the modern version of Marxism for the new generations. Muh Proletariat Revolution. The SJWs are the useful idiots for the elites, the screaming, whining culture warriors that throw around their weight to get what they want by nagging people's ears off rather than actually doing any work. And god forbid you disagree with them or say that you don't believe this bullshit Intersectional religion, because they will have a mental breakdown like you have never seen before.
