I wanted to share a series of pics from Japan that showcase the cute, the wonderful, the weird and the WTF that embodies Japan with an eye mostly toward things of a furry nature. Cripsy treats from Isewanko! Taken at one of the dominant convenience chains in Japan (e.g.: Lawson's, 7/11, 7&i, Daily Yamazaki, or Family Mart) where this charming doggie caught my eye.

Isewanko is apparently the mascot of the National Confectionery Exposition in Mie. Not sure what flavor these are but I spotted something about nori-- seaweed on the package so it might taste like the wrappings on your California rolls. This also shows a bunch of other treats found in convenience stores throughout the country.
