Whenever the demonic force within Alexander takes over this is what happens within his mind. A power struggle of which aspect of him gains full control. Sometimes the battle is fought out in wits and other times like here it is fought out by will power. Alex is lucky the demon is always bound, if that wasn't the case... well. Nothing would stop it from roaming completely free then. Not to mention the power it keeps under wraps.
