BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Leon was born in Canada to Canadian Army Sergeant Richard Embers and [REDACTED] the same year the Gulf War ended. While his mother returned to active duty, his father stayed behind and raised their son. When he was only a young boy of 3 years, Richard was called back to active duty, and without anyone to look after his only child, left him with a person known simply as Master Sensei, a martial arts grandmaster of immense mystical power.

Master Sensei had already taken many children like Leon into his home, and when he noticed the flame-like black mark on the child's right hand, accepted on condition that he would oversee his training. Leon felt scared and alone in this new environment, and found solace only in hugging his own tail, which he'd named Fluffy, a habit that has carried on to this day.

When Leon was 8 years old, Sensei performed a ritual to draw out his dormant Deva powers, intending to train him as early as possible. Though the process was excruciating and traumatizing, Leon survived, and his Deva Mark spread across his entire right arm as his powers were awakened.

In addition to granting him power of flames, he also gained incredible strength and endurance thanks to his gift. From that day, Leon trained with Sensei, learning to control his Deva powers under his watchful eye. Raising the boy as his own, Sensei put the boy through school, and after classes were done, taught him in martial arts, meditation, and combat. It's during this training that he formed a close bond with fellow Deva Raiga Raihara, who was left with Sensei as an infant.

As he grew, Leon became stronger and quicker, as well as far more proficient with his flame-manipulating abilities. When Raiga finally turned 18, he left to search for his parents, leaving Leon with only Master Sensei and his two remaining students, Hyoume, an arctic fox with power over ice who came upon Sensei's dojo while escaping from a warlord.

Leon continued to train, becoming close to Hyoume over the years. However, when the Battle of Riverport began, both jumped into the fray to help push back the demon invasion. Though the media accredited most of the success of the battle to Raiga, it was the combined efforts of him, Leon and Hyoume that ultimately won the day. The three settled into jobs in the city, helping it to rebuild, with Leon taking a job as a bodyguard.

After SPEAR's facilities were established on the island, Leon, Raiga and Hyoume all signed up for training. Leon's own performance was in the top percentile, and he graduated from the academy with flying colors. He volunteered to have an experimental neural implant installed in his central nervous system, which serves as his PDA and mobile phone.

His exploits as part of SPEAR are mostly confidential, but he remains nevertheless one of SPEAR's most skillful, and dangerous, agents we've ever had.

POWERS AND ABILITIES

Deva Body

Leon's physical strength is incomparable even by Deva standards. Even without actively calling on any of his power, he is able to shatter solid concrete with a single punch, dead-lifting over 900 lbs and running at a top speed of 40 mph. His reflexes are fast enough to catch an arrow going 400 feet per second in mid-flight, and his powerful legs allow him to jump dozens of feet in the air with ease.

Thanks to both his training and Deva power, he can sustain surprising amounts of blunt force trauma. However, this does not protect him from firearms or blades, which harm him just as though he were mortal.

Deva Flame

Leon holds immense flame power within him, focused in his right arm. By calling on this power, dubbed the Nenshoken or "Burning Fist", the flame-like mark on his right arm glows a golden color and gives off a flaming aura as part of the power is released through it. This exhausts him after extended use, yet the power he gains more than makes up for this. His physical strength and durability throughout his entire body increases to 10x its normal level, and his flame increase in potency.

Born as a Deva due to being exposed to demon energy in utero, Leon wields the power of flames and heat. By superheating air contained in his lungs, he is able to breathe fire in a 30-ft cone. The heat of his flames has been calculated at over 7,000 degrees Kelvin, almost four times hotter than molten lava. In addition to this, he can create flame or raise his body temperature at will by calling upon a tiny portion of his power and channeling it through his body, which also lets him heat up objects by touching them. For short amounts of time, he is even able to propel himself through the air with focused blasts of fire from both hands.

He is also able to absorb flames or sources of heat through physical contact, which in addition to healing his body of injuries also increases his strength and the power of his fire attacks temporarily in proportion to the amount of heat absorbed.

Full Deva Form

When fully tapped into his Deva power, Leon undergoes a terrifying transformation. This power is similar to the Nenshoken, with his Deva Mark glowing a golden color and being engulfed in flame, though with the added effect of his hair growing dramatically in length and his eyes blazing like hot coals. In addition, his muscle mass expands and increases his strength by 2500%, his canines grow larger and an intense flame aura rises around him.

In this form, he is far more aggressive, relishing in the thrill of battle and destructive in his methods. He is able to shield himself with his flame aura, capable of disintegrating almost anything that passes through it. His flame attacks become over five times as potent, over 40,000 degrees Kelvin at their hottest.

However, such immense power comes at a terrible cost. The longer Leon remains in this form, the more damage is done to him, as his body is vulnerable to the full brunt of his own power. Whatever injuries he endures are healed almost instantly, though this drains his life force variably depending on the severity of his wounds. Once he reverts, Leon is often unable to continue fighting, and in extreme cases may lose consciousness and require long-term care.

WEAPONS AND EQUIPMENT

Seraph

Leon's custom-made magnum revolver, dubbed Seraph, is a memento from his father. Made from an extremely durable metal alloy strong enough to parry blades, it has 6 chambers, features a laser sight, gas recoil compensator and ergonomic rubber grip, and has a black frame with the weapon's name in red along the barrel.

Seraph is capable firing several types of specialized cartridges in addition to powerful, custom-tooled anti-demon .44 caliber ballistic rounds. These include dart rounds which can filled with poisons, antidotes, toxins or any injection-vector chemical, incendiary rounds, explosive rounds, and tracker rounds containing nanites for GPS location tracking.

Due to his incredible strength and years of practice with the weapon, Leon can absorb much of the hand cannon's powerful recoil, allowing him to shoot accurately at an abnormal speed. His standard loadout is 3 grenade shells and 18 revolver rounds, including the 6 rounds loaded in the chambers.
