Shades of Life - The Origin of Shade Koopa - Part 1
Allllrighty. I am exhausted, but Az's a stickler for trying to get something done, and I did say I wanted to help...*yawns*......zzz....huh...oh! Right update!
So anyway, this thingy here is the start of a BIG comishy deal by...who is this? Oh well, uh...this dude:
Shade_Koopa
Azul dug up most of the information himself and crafted this backstory, with some key points here and there from Shade himself, and the result is this! No, not just this one, there's others that will come out over time. I've seen it on occasion when Az was taking some R&R from time to time, and it's an...interesting story. I was laughing a lot, that was certain, especially near the middle, though Az kind of whacked me in the head for some obvious reason...and yet he leaves it to me to post. Go figure!
Anyway, sit back and see the first bit of the untold backstory of someone who's going through the passed-over and more unknown bits of that Mushroom Kingdom place that two plumbers somehow become big heroes of (I guess everyday workers need huge heroes...where's janitor hero??). ANYWAY...you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll cheer....mostly laugh hehehe.
Well, enjoy people. Az really worked hard on this project, and we're glad to hear the commissionee was pleased with the results. We had to cut the thing in half because of size constrictions (to make it easier to see the audio), but hopefully should be easy to follow through things. First bit's kinda depressing, but hey, good stories don't ever seem to have happy starts *shrugs*
Oh yeah, for a narrative touch, here's an added bit. Enjoy!
Far off from the Mushroom Kingdom lies the Dark Land, and inhospitable place for the innocent and reputable. It is here, in one of the many caves that litter it's mountain ranges, that a young daemon Koopa's story begins in earnest.
Our protagonist awakens to the mere presence of it's red browed-patriach, gazing down with a distasteful expression. He mocks his spawn with comparison to it's elder siblings, and with little ceremony, dumps him into a long forgotten cannon blaster.
Surprisingly, it is not without ammo. Even more surprisingly, the ammo in question strikes up conversation, introducing itself as Billy. The strange pleasantries are put on hold, however, as the light from the rear of the cannon quickens the heart-rate (do Banzai's even have hearts?) of both occupants.
With a resounding BOOM, the Banzai Bill and our protagonist are sent speeding forth. They emerge from the cave of our protagonists' former home, flinging over the purple and blue landscape of the Dark Land.
After what seems like seconds, the momentum and weight pull them down into a landing...
...well...crash landing.
Our stunned protagonist falls from impact, slamming into the ground. The impact causes little pain, but his shell, the cause of such protection, smashes to pieces, leaving him bare to the environment around him. Gazing skyward at two circling Albatoss' overhead, the realization of what has happened seems to dawn on his young mind. So he weeps, uncertain what to do.
Even Billy's attempts to placate the young Koopa go unheeded as he himself falls prey to uncertainty and regret of their situation...
