I guess many ''smaller/unknown artist'' can relate. :'D
I just had to rush this out as a sketch, cause it wouldn't leave my mind.
Idk, it just get's me frustrated that I offer commissions on relative cheap prices and no one is interested like... at all.
But I see other artist asking for 10 times my prices and immediately people want to commission them.
(Yes I know they have more followers/skill what so ever, but that is why I do my commissions cheap even tho I think my worktime might be worth more. I start doing sketches at 5 Euro, wich is like 5.63 Dollar.... so I wouldn't say my commissions are really expensive, are they?)
It's especially nerv wrecking when you need the money to pay important bills Q.Q
It just makes me think, am I still to pricey, or does my art really suck so much? :'D
In moments like this I feel like I hit rock bottom.
Yes I sell 1-2 adopts a month and have two very nice patrons, but my bills consume more money that I can provide from that and insurance money alone, not starting to talk about the money I would need to buy food alone.
So yes, I'm kinda depending on getting a commission every now and then. Q-Q
(I feel like I have even lower chances on people commissioning me, after my rant :'D)

I had this problem a LOT until my friend started drilling that into me. Get yourself out there, hone your craft, and value your time as much as you want others to. It has this perk where even if I have slow months, I got a worthwhile amount so it feels good regardless.
As the aforementioned friend put it, there are three artist qualities: fast, high quality, and cheap. And you only get to be two of those.
Tbh I think you way undercharge. If I were a commissioner (would like to once I have some extra cash) I'd def "tip" at least the same as your base price to make the total more fair and even thennn

It's just really hard for me to find a place to set my prices at. I rarely get feedback on my prices I set and even tho I'm cheap, compared to many others, I actually get commission interest relatively rare. (Due to my lack of followers I guess?)
As much as I want to ask for more money, I often feel that people are just not willing to pay me more. So yeah... I keep the prices until interest get's higher I guess.
But that you would tip me about the same amount is really generous, not many would do that :0c
