The pitch thickened with every step she took. It scorched her lungs and burned her eyes, but she slowly carried on following it's trail til it brought her to a canyon. It was vast and deep it seemed to have no end. The smoke rose from within the canyon like mist off a mountain side. The mare carefully nudged a rock off the side of the cliff curious of how deep it ran. She waited and listened for a sound where there was none to be heard. She then peered over the side to her surprise a large black creature emerged it's head furiously from the chasm. With a loud roar it made it's self known. He was covered in thick scales as black and shiny as onyx stone with a crown of horns. His yellow eyes pierced through her.
