For this one, I chose a grayscale marker image. I am at Califur this weekend, which is a con close enough that I can go home at night and sleep in my own bed. So... I needed a sample Image to demonstrate what one gets when they ask for a Grayscale marker commission. For for this image, I chose
The_Jaded_Kitsune's character, dressed for travel in the 1930's (complete with luggage). Enjoy!

Good stuff. You seem to have a pretty good grasp on the styles and aesthetics of the 1930s and the WWII era. I like that. There don't seem to be a lot of furry artists who venture into that period AND know how to really represent it well.
I'm going to say that I'd be enticed to commission you in the future, if and when I can scrape together some expendable income. Based on your profile info, you seem like someone who could do a pretty bang up job with my 'sona and all the period-correct details of his uniform. I could almost imagine him looking like a character out of an old action/adventure pulp comic in your style.

Well, I'm actually just referring to information about them. I should have made that clear.
You see, I've sorta been working on a description of my sona's appearance and what he wears, for my own reference and for any artists I might decide to commission in the future. Any detailed historical info or photographic reference I can find is a big help.
For example, I already have a somewhat vague mental image of what I think of as a "standard look" for him. I'm pretty sure that I'd like it to comprise a pre-WWII, reddish-brown horsehide leather A2 flying jacket and a garrison cap, complete with a 2nd Lieutenant bar and aquamarine blue and orange Air Corps piping.
Some of the photographs I've seen of Claire Chennault come to mind, but I want to explore my sona's look in-depth and get a more firm sense of things like the uniform he'd be wearing underneath that, particularly in the Panama Canal Zone and maybe stateside too, as well as uniform regulations, what he would actually be wearing in flight beneath the usual parachute, Mae West life preserver, etc.
I'm also interested in the proper Air Corps patches he would have on his jacket, as well as possible squadron patches for any one of the squadrons that was assigned to the 20th Pursuit Group at Barksdale Field, LA from 1933-1937, and the 16th Pursuit Group in Panama from about 1937-1941. I'm also unsure of whether his garrison cap should be khaki colored or OD green for the Panama setting. Like I said, uniform regulations...
Also of interest to me, for another character I'm contemplating, is the different uniforms that were worn by the Sparrowhawk pilots of the USS Akron and USS Macon air groups, and maybe also the uniforms of enlisted crewmen, even though I already have a book about those airships that might possibly cover that to some extent.
If you'd like to offer some suggestions to help point me in the right direction, that would be much appreciated.
