I see your point, but this is different. Nobody IRL named Simba died by falling off a cliff because their lion brother named Scar set them up. That's how I look at it, personally. If a person IRL were to die? Yes, that would be horrible, but... if it were a person in fiction? It depends very highly on the reason and even then it has to be characters I've spent some time with to make me do more then shrug and move on.
Taking it back to these two characters that the witchfox ate. They are here to benefit Ingrid and show off what type of character she is as well as be fodder, I have more investment in her then I do with these two fictional entities who have no more then a few pages and minimalist backstory that I could probably write on the back of a napkin. However, If for instance I cared about a character named Jon Snow from the Game of thrones, ... well... yea.

I'm wondering why you let a piece of fiction bother you, especially with characters that have about as much backstory as a sneeze too. Though being honest, to each their own right? If you think it's a waste of time, then let's be honest I doubt you are willing to see my point of view.
yes but when a story makes you start thinking of the characters as real people and you grow attached to said characters you still feel emotions about what happens to them as if they were right there in front of you. a really good story puts you in the story and you feel like the world in it was around you, making you feel very immersed in the story's plot and dialog to the point you can't not feel bad for the main characters. so his reaction is technically justifiable.
It's pretty weird, actually. If the bodies were empty, soulless shells, they'd have no consciousness. Think "permanent coma". They look almost like they're torn between the retention spell and the revive seeds, which is going to benefit neither party. Stalemate.
It isn't a revive fail, so much as 'incomplete'.

Rofl, the funny part about that '10%' (which I really think that number is flipped but w/e) though is that you don't half as often see people going to them and saying "WHY AREN'T THEY DEAD, I WANTED THEM DEAD'
So why do so many people go to the 90% and shout about the obvious and kink shame them?
