Hey all, well I've been experimenting with a lot of coloring methods and have found two techniques I like. One's a painterly style (A and C) and the other is a cell shaded style with some soft edges here and there. I may use both styles, however what I'm trying to decide on now is the color balance of the shading. So here're my top pics for color balance that I can't decide on!
A is a bit darker and more gray, "realistic" soft painting style
B is a very light pastel-y tone with less hard detail lines
C is a color-saturated painting style with more vivid colored lineart
and D is a more typical cell shading style with high contrast and dark lines
I'd really love some feedback on both the shading styles and color balances, and which one(s) you'd like to see me use most often.
I have set up a poll here to log your opinions: strawpoll.com/5sbgxsw
But a comment with your favorite style is helpful too! (or if you don't like any of them, feel free to tell me why. I'm a big girl, I can handle it ;) )
Thanks everyone~

i love C and D as a full image shading but i think C has my heart more
i think A is a little /to/ gray and B would be much better for chibis or less realistic pictures, i think if you offered C and D as seperate choices for shading it would work (cell shade or full shade kinda thing)
A looks really good, but like someone else said, the colors look less saturated, which kind of feels off to me. B's really nice, but it does feel a lot less shaded-y.
I think C's a good balance between the detail of A and the brightness of B, while D is more-bright-less-detailed but still somewhere in the middle. Either C or D looks best to me.
