It's not a video game per se, but for a planned story I came up with a game based on finance and the securities markets. Actual financial data was used to develop the game's information stream as players try to save, spend, buy, sell, invest, and otherwise be successful. The game can be set for complexity, and even add new options and increase the difficulty as players improve.
