Urban Exploration 'UE' fodder: For Sale! Amador Plaza
I have a series of images that I'm going to call Urban Exploration 'UE' fodder.
These are buildings that have been vacant as little as 4 months to as high as 9 years.
This building had once been a Honda dealership.

Some time around 2006 the dealership moved and someone started to redevelop the building. Demolition and construction proceeded slowly. Last fall (2008) when the nations economy went through a free fall work became even more sporadic. The building spent the rainy season (Winter 2009) largely open without a watertight roof, if you look closely at the wood sheathing you can see areas of rain stained wood from the soaked nails. Along the left side of the photo out in the elements is a 4 foot tall pile of bagged concrete mix, I'd wager it's ruined now. In March 2009 the roofing got done, more curtain-wall sheathing was hung, the truck moved to the front of the building and then 6 weeks ago, the contractor sign out front changed to a 'For Sale' sign.
I can see the listing now. For Sale, distressed, unfinished, water damaged and un-occupiable building with piles of damaged and unusable construction materials spaced randomly around the site.
I remember such buildings during the 70's and they hung around sometimes for years afterwards slowly falling down. Who knows how this one will work out.
Update: Going for $6,200,000, got your wallet handy?
